Kathryn Westbeld Bio
Kathryn Westbeld is a 6-foot-3 forward born January 29, 1996, in Kettering, Ohio. She played at Notre Dame from 2014 through 2018, helping the Fighting Irish win the 2018 NCAA championship. Notre Dame’s records describe Westbeld as a dependable “glue” player during a career that also included two Final Four appearances; she was particularly important on the boards in the title game.
Undrafted in 2018, Westbeld began a lengthy international professional career that included stops in Australia, Spain, Puerto Rico, France, Italy, Israel and Hungary. Phoenix signed her to a training-camp contract on February 10, 2025, and she played for the Mercury during the 2025 season. As of September 11, 2026, she is not on Phoenix’s official 2026 roster; FIBA’s current club-competition profile lists her with DVTK HUNTHERM in EuroLeague Women. Her profile is that of a frontcourt connector: a physical forward who can rebound, defend and make sound decisions within a team offense.
