Ariel Atkins is a 5-foot-10 guard for the Los Angeles Sparks as of September 11, 2026. Born July 30, 1996, she played at the University of Texas before Washington selected her with the seventh overall pick in the first round of the 2018 WNBA Draft.
Atkins began her WNBA career with the Washington Mystics, reaching the Finals as a rookie and helping the franchise win the 2019 WNBA championship. Her résumé also includes two WNBA All-Star selections, five All-Defensive Team honors, and an Olympic gold medal with the United States at the Tokyo Games. Chicago acquired her before the 2025 season, then traded her to Los Angeles on April 12, 2026.
A two-way wing guard, Atkins is known for perimeter defense, ball pressure and disruptive instincts, while offering scoring versatility in the backcourt. Her early run of All-Defensive recognition reflects a game built around guarding tough assignments and making plays on both ends.
