BIOGRAPHY
This detailed biography presents a comprehensive synopsis of the contemporary Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighters, including their nationalities, recent signings and departures, fight schedules, results, and current divisional champions. The information is updated as of September 28, 2024, where the UFC roster boasts fighters hailing from 79 diverse nations.
Retiring fighters or those released from their UFC agreements in the previous month are also acknowledged. Those who haven’t publicly declared their exiting from UFC are still mentioned, based on their absence from the UFC’s active roster. Moreover, this biography sheds light on recently signed fighters awaiting their UFC debuts, fighters announcing their return from retirement, and fighters yet to reappear in the UFC roster.
Part of the assemblage are fighters facing suspensions for an array of reasons: anti-doping violation imposed by either the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), or Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD); misconduct during fights or at venues administered by local commissions; or direct input from UFC. As of May 16, 2019, 76 UFC fighters have faced sanctions from USADA since the institution of the UFC USADA testing scheme.
In January 2024, the UFC embarked on a new collaboration with Drug Free Sport International, a company with oversight of the anti-doping programs for the NCAA, MLB, NFL, and NBA. The UFC Anti-Doping Program, including the disciplining decisions, is now exclusively managed by Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD), with George Piro, a former FBI agent, acting as the independent administrator.

The rankings of UFC fighters are determined by a panel of MMA media members. They vote for the top active fighters in the UFC by weight and pound-for-pound. A fighter can hold ranking in multiple divisions simultaneously if they have competed in those categories. Champions and interim champions hold the top positions in their respective weight classes, and only they are eligible for pound-for-pound ranking votes.
The updated rankings are taken directly from the UFC’s website. If not updated there, the current data from the UFC’s official app is used. It was most recently updated on November 5, 2024, after UFC Fight Night: Moreno vs. Albazi.
Currently, the UFC employs nine different weight classes. The champions’ list is updated as of October 26, 2024, following UFC 308. Details of recent fights involving these champions are also included.
Certain noteworthy incidents involving athletes are also highlighted: On October 9, 2024, an unnamed athlete was arrested but not charged in Huntington Beach, California, for a misdemeanor battery case allegedly involving the ex-husband of Mackenzie Dern, Wesley Santos.
On June 25, 2024, as a consequence of attempting to assault a fan during UFC 300, Tsarukyan was fined $25,000 by the NSAC and was handed a nine-month suspension, making him eligible to compete again only on January 12, 2025. Nonetheless, the term can be reduced to six months if he issues an NSAC-approved anti-bullying PSA.
