Tristan Connelly is an MMA fighter from Vancouver, BC. He is best known for competing in the UFC’s lightweight division.
Connelly began his martial arts training in his teens, starting with Muay Thai and then transitioning to jiu-jitsu shortly after. In 2010, he made his amateur debut at Rumble in the Cage 57 and won via submission. He went on to compete mainly on local Canadian cards until 2015 when he signed with Score Fighting Series (SFS). Here, he compiled a record of 7–2 across nine fights and became the welterweight champion by defeating former UFC competitor Jesse Ronson at SFS 13.
In 2018, Connelly joined Invicta FC as a featherweight but returned to welterweight following a split decision loss against Felicia Spencer in April 2019. Following this fight he was released by Invicta FC and later that year signed with Brave CF where had two wins over Ali Bagautinov and Scott Hudson respectively before making it into the octagon after being called upon late notice for an opportunity against Michel Pereira at UFC on ESPN+ 16 which took place September 14th 2019 – ultimately winning via unanimous decision becoming just another rise story for Tristan Connelly’s career!
Most recently Tristan has been impressing fans across Canada with his skills following back-to-back wins over Diego Ferreira at UFC Fight Night: Eye vs Calvilla and Makwan Amirkhani at UFC Fight Night 180 both won by unanimous Decision! With these two impressive decisions under him – there isn’t much room left for doubt that Tristain will be one to watch out for in 2020 as he continues to climb up the ranks of not only Canadian fighters but fighters around the world within MMA!
Over all – Tristan is an incredibly talented fighter who works hard outside of competition too often doing interviews or raising money/awareness through non profits such as Shoes4Souls and Grappling For Kids Charity – so it’s no wonder why so many Canadians have rallied behind this humble star!
