BIOGRAPHY

Stephen Erceg is an Australian professional mixed martial artist who has been competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) since 2018. He is currently signed to the promotion’s lightweight division, where he holds a 4-2 record.

Born on December 16th, 1991 in Sydney, Australia, Stephen Erceg discovered MMA at the age of 19 when his older brother introduced him to it. After training for only a year and a half with his brother’s gym as well as some other local gyms across Sydney, he made his amateur debut in 2011 at just 20 years old. He quickly racked up an impressive 5-1 record before making the transition to professional fighting two years later in 2013.

Over the next four years Stephen competed on various regional promotions around Australia and New Zealand, building up an 8-3 pro record with all but one fight ending by knockout or submission within three rounds or less. In 2017 he made history when he became Australia’s first ever male fighter to sign with UFC after winning a contract through Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series show.

Since then Stephen has had four fights under UFC; two wins and two losses against opponents like Matt Schnell and Charles Jourdain respectively. His most recent win was against Tyson Nam this past October 2020 which earned him Performance of The Night honors from Dana White himself! Despite being relatively new to UFC fans around the world have eyes on this young Aussie fighter who looks set to make big moves in 2021 if given more opportunities inside of Octagon cage!

Outside of MMA competition Stephen is heavily involved in charity work for organizations such as Bravehearts that assists those affected by childhood sexual abuse . He also partakes often times within various communities throughout Australia including speaking engagements & coaching seminars for those interested taking up MMA interest either professionally or recreationally . His philanthropic endeavors are not limited nor exclusive towards only sports related charities but rather looking forward causes that may be beneficial towards disenfranchised youth , children & people alike both here domestically & abroad !

In addition , away from combat sport activities , Stephen enjoys music production/creating soundtracks , always keeping busy creating new beats while further perfecting current works finding inspiration through classic hip hop /rnb records ! All these hobbies allow him find balance between competition life & everyday living enabling more relaxed composure outside octagon cage !!
