Nyamjargal Tumendemberel Bio
Nyamjargal Tumendemberel is a Mongolian mixed martial artist who competes in the UFC flyweight division under the nickname “Art of Knockout.” As of September 29, 2026, the UFC lists him as active and training at Shandas MMA. He was born in Bayanbulag, Mongolia, stands 5 feet 7 inches tall and has a 71-inch reach.
Tumendemberel began fighting in 2017 and became a professional in 2020. Before joining the UFC roster, he competed in Mongolia and elsewhere in Asia, won flyweight championships with MGL-1 FC and Gladiator FC, and appeared in Road to UFC. His UFC debut came against Carlos Hernandez on November 23, 2024. He later earned his first UFC victory by submitting Terrance Saeteurn with an anaconda choke in Shanghai on August 22, 2025, then defeated Cody Durden by unanimous decision on March 7, 2026.
His background blends multiple grappling traditions. The UFC identifies Tumendemberel as a judo black belt and a champion in Mongolian wrestling, while he names the armbar as his favorite grappling technique. That foundation supports a submission-oriented approach, but his nickname and history of quick knockout victories reflect the striking threat in his game. Away from competition, he has described his upbringing as that of a nomadic herder and says he wants to use his UFC platform to promote Mongolia, its culture and its nomadic traditions.
