Nina Ansaroff is an American mixed martial artist and a former Invicta FC Strawweight Champion. Born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1987, she began to hone her competitive spirit from a young age when she started playing soccer. She continued on the path of athleticism when she took up kickboxing at sixteen and MMA at twenty-three.
While growing up, Nina was always passionate about sports; hence why soccer became such a big part of her life since childhood. Belonging to multiple teams throughout high school and college before moving onto kickboxing where she earned her black belt under legendary Muay Thai coaches Bob Karmel and John Hackelman. It was only afterwards that Nina decided to take it one step further by entering into the world of professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). She started fighting for Florida’s Fighting Professionals promotion in 2012 with impressive results – going undefeated over six fights before ultimately signing with the UFC after being tapped out by Carla Esparza in January 2013 during The Ultimate Fighter season 20 tryouts.
Ansaroff fought her first official match against Juliana Lima at UFC Fight Night 35 where she won via unanimous decision; this marked the start of what would be a lengthy career inside the Octagon as Ansaroff went on to compete ten more times for the organization including memorable wins against Randa Markos, Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger, Angela Hill and most recently Claudia Gadelha which cemented herself as one of the best strawweights currently competing today with four performances earning “Fight Of The Night” honors from officials across four different countries (United States, Canada Russia & Japan).
Outside of competition Ansaroff works diligently as an ambassador for both Bellator MMA & PFL promotions while also working tirelessly on projects focused towards living healthier lifestyles while advocating positive mental health awareness within athletic communities worldwide alongside fellow athletes such as Miesha Tate & Ronda Rousey who are also aware advocates for such causes due their own personal battles faced during their careers in combat sports.
She is also known for her relationship with fellow UFC fighter Amanda Nunes whom has been openly lesbian since 2016 – leading many outlets to label them “the power couple” within current MMA landscape given their success together both inside out outside of cage respectively .
