Mike Jackson

Mike Jackson is an American professional mixed martial artist and former journalist, currently signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He is best known for his fight with CM Punk on June 9, 2018.

Jackson was born in Dallas, Texas on February 24th 1986. He grew up playing football and eventually became a member of the University of Central Florida’s squad. After graduating from UCF in 2008, he worked as an apprentice at a local radio station before transitioning into a full-time job as a radio host for 95X Sports Radio in Orlando. His passion for combat sports ultimately led him to become interested in MMA and he decided to pursue it professionally from 2013 onwards.

At first, Jackson trained under coaches such as John Hackleman, Rafael Cordeiro and Robert Follis before travelling across the United States searching for more experience which included training at Team Alpha Male alongside Urijah Faber’s crew and their partners Combat Club MMA & Kickboxing Gym of Las Vegas Nevada (CCMMA) where he continued his education under Legendary coach Jeff Curran and Head Coach Tedd Williams.

In 2015 Mike made his pro debut when he faced off against fellow UFC vet Dan Stittgen at Xcessive Force Fighting Championship 15 event held at Fort McKay Alberta Canada where Mike scored himself a knockout victory over Stittgen within The First Round Of Action earning him XFC Lightweight Title Belt In The Process – this win propelled Jackson into larger organizations including Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series resulting in winning 2 fights back-to-back via Unanimous Decision & Technical Submission respectively – cementing himself amongst top contenders vying for that highly coveted UFC contract opportunity!

Ultimately Mike landed himself that dream deal with UFC by signing on August 16th 2017 during Season 3 Episode 8 of DWTNCS Versus Former Pro Wrestler/Focus Fighter CM Punk – which ended up being one of biggest events not just within Fight Game but Sports Industry itself because due to popularity/fanfare surrounding both competitors prior experience outside octagon plus fact it carried highest peak viewership numbers show has ever seen thus far making it “must watch TV” moment!
