BIOGRAPHY

Matt Sayles is an up and coming UFC athlete. He was born in San Diego, California, on October 6th, 1992. Growing up as a child he was always involved in some kind of sport whether it be baseball or basketball. But it wasn’t until high school that Matt started to get into martial arts and eventually the combat sport of MMA (mixed martial arts).

At first it was just for fun but soon enough Matt found himself attending classes at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu which is where his passion for MMA began to blossom. After several successful amateur bouts he decided to turn professional and signed with the UVC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) organization in 2017.

Since then he has had four fights with three wins and one loss all via decision which shows not only his incredible athleticism but also his mental toughness having gone the distance each time out. His other notable achievements include being named “Rookie of The Year” by Fight Magazine as well as winning two Submission Of The Night awards while competing inside the Octagon.

His most recent performance came on December 15th 2018 when he faced off against fellow rookie fighter Julian Erosa in a matchup that ended up going all three rounds before ending via unanimous judges decision awarding him the victory and pushing him closer towards a possible title shot sometime down the line if everything goes according to plan.

On top of training full-time for upcoming fights, Matt still finds time to give back community by teaching jiu jitsu classes at local gyms around San Diego and even giving motivational speeches about chasing your dreams no matter how big they might seem!

Outside of fighting, Matt enjoys spending time with family & friends near & far from home, working out at least 5 times a week while still indulging in some delicious home cooked meals every so often! All jokes aside though when asked what drove him forward throughout all these years one simple answer comes forth: “My will power & determination are what really keep me going even during my toughest moments; I want nothing more than success within this sport & will do whatever it takes achieve that goal!”
