Damir Hadzovic is a Bosnian-born mixed martial artist, currently fighting out of Sweden in the lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He has been featured on multiple international Fight Cards and has become one of the top lightweight contenders in Europe.

Hadzovic was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina and he began his martial arts journey by training judo when he was four years old. He would eventually start to train Karate, Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling which gave him a strong foundation for his mixed martial arts career. As an amateur MMA fighter, Damir had a successful run through different organizations such as Shootfighting EuroCup where he won 2 tournaments at Lightweight.

In 2013, Hadzovic made his professional debut against Bartosz Wojcikiewicz with an impressive first round submission victory via rear naked choke at X Fight Nights 4: Heroes Night 3 – Belgrade. After winning several more fights over European opponents on various fight cards throughout Europe including Battle Arena 42 and Ultimate Fights Championships 7; Damir decided it was time to take his talents to the big stage – UFC.

In 2014 Hadzovic signed with UFC after being invited by top lightweights such as Ross Pearson and Michael Johnson who gave their praises about him during interviews with MMARising Radio Show host Joe Ferraro. His debut came against Mairbek Taisumov at UFC Fight Night 41 in Berlin Germany where Hadzovic lost via TKO due to strikes from Taisumov’s punches late into Round 1 but still earned a “Fight of The Night” bonus for an entertaining display of striking exchanges between both fighters which eventually led up to the TKO finish courtesy Mairbek Taisumov’s punching flurries that overwhelmed Damir late into Round 1 .
