Da Un Jung is a professional mixed martial artist and kickboxer who has been competing in the UFC since 2017. He is currently signed with the promotion’s lightweight division and fights out of Seoul, South Korea.
At 5 feet 8 inches tall, Da Un Jung first started his martial arts career training in taekwondo when he was nine years old. After winning several tournaments by the age of 15, he transitioned to mixed martial arts (MMA). Before joining UFC, Jung competed in various regional MMA promotions including Kunlun Fight and Road Fighting Championship. He quickly rose into prominence after winning six fights in a row from 2013 to 2015. In 2016, he joined the South Korean-based organization TOP FC as their middleweight champion where he defended his title twice before signing with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) later that year.
Jung made his UFC debut against Marcin Tybura at The Ultimate Fighter Finale 24 on December 3rd 2016 which ended in a draw due to an accidental headbutt causing an early stoppage. Despite this setback however, Jung went on to win three more bouts against Rob Font at TUF 25 Finale; Teruto Ishihara at UFC Fight Night 117; and Marvin Vettori at UFC 224 respectively – further solidifying him as one of the best prospects out of Asia today.
In 2018, Da Un Jung faced off against veteran fighters Frankie Edgar and Alexander Volkanovski – both resulting in losses for him despite putting up strong performances showcasing his mastery of striking techniques such as low kicks and overhand rights along with effective combinations utilizing jabs or crosses followed by body kicks or hooks respectively . With these experiences however also came plenty lessons learned which would eventually help turn things around for him as 2019 arrived when he defeated highly ranked contenders like Tyson Nam and Ovince Saint Preux while improving upon conditioning issues through strength & conditioning training programs designed specifically for himself under coaches such as Michael Bisping & Nigel McGuinness – propelling him up multiple rankings within divisions across organizations worldwide ever since then most notably going 9-2-1 throughout 2020 alone!
Overall this 30 year old fighter has already established himself amongst some of today’s best competitors showing incredible resilience over time despite facing numerous challenges – ultimately earning respect from peers & fans alike by becoming one ‘The Supernatural’ we know today!
