BIOGRAPHY

Alex Reyes is a professional mixed martial artist, currently competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Born on July 19, 1993, in Los Angeles, California, Alex has been involved in martial arts since he was young. He trained and competed in both amateur and professional kickboxing before transitioning to MMA.

At age 18, Alex had his first amateur fight at an event called ‘Battle of the Stars’ which he won via unanimous decision. This victory earned him his first pro contract with Cage Combat Promotions. During this time he began training with UFC veteran Chris Lytle at his gym known as The Pit Elevated Fight Team – where he still trains today.

Reyes made his official UFC debut at the age of 22 against Artem Lobov on December 30th 2017 at UFC 219. He earned a split decision win over Lobov that night and continued to climb up the rankings by later winning four more fights within two years including victories over former title challengers Renato Moicano and Jason Knight respectively outside of the promotion also boosting his stock inside the cage.

Not even one year after making his promotional debut Reyes was tapped to face number three ranked featherweight contender Calvin Kattar at UFC 238 on June 8th 2019 for what would be easily considered one of toughest tests in Reyes’s career thus far.. Despite being viewed as an underdog going into this fight , Reyes pulled off a spectacular come from behind knockout victory with only seconds left on the clock that instantly put him into contention for a top ten spot among other divisional contenders .
This thrilling finish garnered multiple post-fight awards including Performance Of The Night bonus as well as Fight Of The Night honors which solidified Alex’s status among active fighters . Furthermore following this performance many fans quickly took notice of how talented fighter Reyes truly is .

After earning himself another win against fellow prospect Yair Rodriguez last May 2020 , Alex will now look forward towards continuing to build upon further momentum within 145 lbs weight class when he takes on Kelvin Gastelum next weekend February 6th 2021 . While it remains unclear what lies ahead for him beyond this matchup , there is no doubt that future certainly looks bright for Alex Reyess moving forward — especially if keeps showcasing same level skillful performances like those shown throughout previous bouts during current run inside octagon ..
