BIOGRAPHY
Alex Da Silva is an up and coming Brazilian UFC fighter who has quickly risen to become one of the best fighters in the sport. Born in 1986 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Alex began his martial arts journey when he was nine years old. After training extensively with some of Brazil’s top instructors and fighters, he made his professional MMA debut at the young age of 17. He quickly established himself as a force to be reckoned with by winning five out of seven fights during his first two years as a pro MMA fighter.
Alex’s career took off after several victories over strong opponents led him to competing on The Ultimate Fighter Brasil 2 (TUF). On TUF, Alex became known for his impressive takedowns and powerful ground-and-pound technique that earned him four consecutive wins including a knockout victory over Yuki Kondo in the tournament finale. With this win, Alex earned himself a contract with UFC where he was immediately thrown into competition against some of their toughest opponents such as Thiago Alves and Michael Johnson. Despite being relatively inexperienced compared to many other contenders at the time, Alex held his own against these experienced veterans thanks to his superior grappling skillset combined with improved striking ability from working with renowned boxing coach Floyd Mayweather Sr..
With each fight came more experience for Alex which resulted in much better performances each time out – earning him three Fight Night bonuses throughout 2019 alone! In 2020 things have only gotten better for Alex as he has taken home another Fight Night bonus along with an “Honorable Mention” spot on ESPN’s annual list of top prospects following back-to-back dominating performances against Dwight Grant and Ryan Spann respectively.
His success inside the Octagon has not gone unnoticed either; having recently signed a new multi-fight deal with UFC as well received endorsement deals from popular brands such Reebok and Boost Mobile amongst others – all while still managing to maintain an impressive undefeated streak since joining UFC! As long as he continues down this path there’s no telling how far Alex will go within this sport but one thing is certain; fans can expect plenty more exciting fights from him for many years to come!
