Quindell Johnson, the twin of Kendell Johnson, is a talented professional American football player, born on November 5, 1999. Unlike many sportsmen, Quindell Johnson and Kendell forged their path in the sports world together, engaging in youth sports teams, schooling in the same institutions, and even playing for the same college football team.
Braving life head-on, Johnson’s early years were spent in the relentless pursuit of his ambitions. Born and raised within the exhilarating and relentless world of American Football, Quindell Johnson took it upon himself to navigate this exciting world, alongside his twin brother Kendell.
During his high school days, the Johnson twins attended Edna Karr High School, where Quindell Johnson rose to be a valuable player, contributing significantly to back-to-back state championships in 2016 and 2017. His skill and talent did not go unrecognized, as he committed to the Memphis Tigers to play college football, despite redshirting as a true freshman.
It was in 2019 that he saw significant playing time, managing to make a total of 58 tackles, two interceptions, and four pass breakups. Fortunately, the following year, Johnson was awarded second-team all-conference honors as a result of making 81 total tackles, two forced fumbles, and leading the American Athletic Conference with 60 solo stops. Consistently improving, he played all 12 games in 2021 that saw him make 104 tackles. Johnson was able to maintain his esteemed position within the second-team all-conference honors, additionally ranking 12th nationally due to his 66 solo stops. The following year, he returned for a final season with the Memphis Tigers, recording a conference-leading four interceptions that saw him rank 22nd nationally. Johnson’s performance throughout the year saw him post 77 tackles, four pass breakups, and two forced fumbles, resulting in him being named to the first team All-AAC. He completed his college career with a remarkable record of 320 tackles, 24 pass breakups, and 10 interceptions.
Despite his devotion and dedication to the sport, Johnson experienced a setback when he went unselected in the 2023 NFL draft. However, displaying immense resilience, he was signed by the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent. Unluckily, on August 29th of the same year, the Rams waived him, following the final roster cuts.
While faced with a rather unfortunate situation of not making the Rams’ final roster, he was claimed off waivers by the famed Chicago Bears. But this stint was short-lived when the Bears waived him on August 26, 2024. Johnson spent a single day on the practice squad, only to be released the following day.
Despite the string of setbacks, Johnson’s journey took a turn when he was signed to the Los Angeles Rams’ practice squad on September 18th. His journey in professional football has been a testament to the resilience, determination, and persistence necessary to succeed, serving as an inspiration for future athletes.
