Kader Kohou's Biography

Nesmon Kader Joel Kohou, colloquially known as Kader Kohou, was born on 28th November, 1998 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Kohou has been excellent in exemplifying his abilities and talents beyond the boundaries of his hometown. His riveting life journey marked by professional excellence in the field of American football and his contributions as a cornerback for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL) have been quite noteworthy.

Kohou is a cherished child of Elise Derou and Guy Kohou. Apart from his birthplace, he spent a considerable part of his early life in Euless, Texas, where he cultivated an interest in football and track running. His parents ensured that his education and upbringing were reflective of the culture and environment of both Côte d’Ivoire and Texas.

Having honed his sporting skill at a young age, Kohou attended Trinity High School in Texas. It was during this period that his sporting potential truly blossomed. Being part of the school’s football team, his pivotal role in securing the district title during his senior year was significant. As a by-product of his tireless performance and consistent deliverances, he was chosen as the first-team all-district. He earned this recognition by leading the district in terms of interceptions.

Kohou’s academic journey saw him enrolled at Texas A&M University–Commerce, where he further nurtured his football skills and expertise. Not merely a participant in the University’s football team, he readily stepped into leadership roles. His freshman season in 2017 saw him guiding the Lions to repute by securing the national championship title. Kader Kohou’s exceptional streak at Texas A&M-Commerce included an impressive record of 111 total tackles, five interceptions, and four forced fumbles. Furthermore, his specialty in defense led him to maintain three fumble recoveries, two defensive touchdowns, and 348 yards as a return specialist on special teams. His indomitable performance earned him the recognition of the second team all-conference in the Lone Star Conference in 2018, followed by the first team all-conference in 2019.

Upon completing his studies, Kohou signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent, following the 2022 NFL draft. The date marked for his association with the Dolphins was April 30, 2022. Among the 53 players included in the final tally after the cuts, Kohou secured his place with elan. His debut in the NFL came during Week 1 against the New England Patriots. In his strikeout opening performance, Kader made a noticeable presence with three tackles and an outstanding pass deflection.
