Jeremiah Kolone's Biography

Jeremiah Kolone, born October 23, 1994, in Pago Pago, American Samoa, is a distinguished American football coach, graduate assistant for the Arizona Wildcats, and a former offensive guard. His journey to where he stands today is a testament to his resilience, devotion, and unforgettable contribution to the game of football.

In hope of a brighter future, Jeremiah’s family moved from their native American Samoa to Hawaii in 1998 and later to San Diego, California. It was in San Diego that Jeremiah began to exhibit his passion and promise in football while attending Fallbrook Union High School. He demonstrated his prowess by playing every offensive line position and defensive tackle for the high school team. His impressive performance led him to a three-time All-Avocado East League selection and two-time All-North County selection, a testament to his budding career as a future football stalwart.

Consequently, he committed to San Jose State to play his college football. In his inaugural year (2013), Jeremy opted to redshirt, however, in 2014, he established his freshman presence, appearing in 10 out of 12 games and did not shy away from leading each game in which he played. A minor injury halted his performance against Colorado State and Fresno State. Further, his tenacity and leadership on the field earned him honorable mention All-Mountain West Conference in 2015 after starting all 13 games and being one of only four sophomores that year to reach that accomplishment.

His football journey continued with Jeremiah being the only offensive player for San Jose State to start all 12 games in 2016. As team captain in his senior year, he started several games before encountering a season-ending injury. Despite these setbacks, he completed his five years at San Jose State with an impressive record, playing 42 games exclusively as a starter and having a streak of 36 consecutive games started.

Although he went undrafted in the 2018 NFL draft, Jeremiah’s football career did not lose momentum; he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Los Angeles Rams. Despite a few fluctuations in his journey with the Rams such as being released and re-signed to the practice squad, Jeremiah’s commitment to football remained undeterred.

In the hope of furthering his career, he signed with the San Diego Fleet of the nascent Alliance of American Football (AAF) in Spring 2019 where he starred in seven games as the team’s starting center before the league folded. He made a return to the Rams later that year.

Throughout his time with the Rams, Jeremiah experienced several roster moves. In 2020, he was part of the team that defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in a thrilling Super Bowl LVI victory. This tenacious player unwaveringly faced numerous football challenges, bouncing between active rosters, waivers, and practice squads, demonstrating an undying commitment to his football career.

In 2024, Jeremiah transitioned from player to coach, joining the coaching staff of the Arizona Wildcats as a graduate assistant. It marked a new chapter in his career, drawing on his wealth of experience as a player to guide and develop the next generation of football talent. The same passion that once had him starring as a player, now makes him an inspiring coach, aiding others in fulfilling their football dreams.

Through this journey, Jeremiah Kolone affirms himself as an emblem of resilience, passion, and dedication in american football- carving out a remarkable path from a young football enthusiast from American Samoa to a revered football coach and former NFL player.
