Deven Thompkins

Deven Thompkins is a professional football player in the National Football League (NFL) and plays wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles. The 6-foot, 195-pound Thompkins was born on November 30, 1996 in Orlando, Florida. He grew up playing football and basketball as well as participating in track & field.

Thompkins attended Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando where he was an all-state wide receiver and defensive back his senior year while recording 28 receptions for 514 yards with four touchdowns on offense and two interceptions defensively during his high school career. He also ran track earning All-America honors twice outdoors at 400 meters clocking 48 seconds flat to place sixth nationally at New Balance Nationals Outdoor meet his senior year of high school.

He chose to stay close to home by attending the University of Central Florida (UCF). At UCF, Thompkins developed into one of the best receivers in program history accumulating 128 receptions for 1,680 yards and 14 touchdowns over four seasons with the Knights. He earned first team All AAC honors as a junior after leading UCF with 61 catches for 809 yards and six touchdowns that season alone while helping them win their second straight conference title that same year.

After ending his collegiate career at UCF he declared early entry into the NFL Draft following his junior season in December 2019 signing with agent Audie Attar from Creative Artists Agency (CAA). In April 2020 he was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles during Round 4 pick No 139 overall making him Philly’s first draft pick from Central Florida since 2006 when they took safetySean Considine out of Iowa who went onto become a 15 game starter over three years before being traded away prior to 2009 season.,

Deven has proven himself since joining NFL officially getting signed on July 25th 2020 becoming one of only five rookies taken off board between rounds 3rd -7th who have been active each week up until now amassing 13 receptions thus far along 24 targets totaling 116 Yards receiving & 1 touchdown through this point showing flashes of brilliance evidenced by explosive plays like 37 yard catch against Seattle Seahawks . His strengths include good hands , speed , route running , vision which makes him dangerous deep threat . Since then locally hes done numerous charity events including food donations via Feeding America partnering up w/Philadelphia Eagles culture club teaming up w/other players raising awareness about importance voting such great work ethic shows just how dedicated Deven is both on & off field . With promising future ahead we can’t wait what lies next !
