Carson Wentz

Carson Wentz is an NFL quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings. As of September 12, 2026, Minnesota’s active roster lists him at quarterback wearing No. 11, and the team’s unofficial depth chart lists him as the second quarterback. The Vikings agreed to terms with Wentz on March 19, 2026, bringing him back after he initially joined the club in August 2025. He previously played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs.

A Bismarck, North Dakota, native, Wentz played college football at North Dakota State. He was a two-year captain for the Bison’s 2014 and 2015 FCS championship teams and earned Most Outstanding Player recognition in the NCAA Division I championship game in both seasons. Philadelphia selected Wentz in the first round, second overall, of the 2016 NFL Draft. His pre-draft profile emphasized prototype size, the ability to work through progressions, pocket escape ability and mobility as a runner—traits that frame him as a quarterback capable of operating from the pocket and creating outside it.
