Born on 2 May 2001, Yuki Kawamura, a Japanese prodigy, rapidly became a renowned figure in the sphere of professional basketball. Although deemed as the shortest athlete, his significance in the basketball world is monumental, ultimately scaling heights with his spectacular skills only to build an extraordinary career in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Hailing from Yanai, Yamaguchi, Kawamura’s love for the game was entrenched in him from a young age, drawing inspiration from professional basketball player Yuki Togashi who too, despite his shorter stature, surfaced as an excellent player on the court.

Yuki Kawamura made his first step into professional basketball as a high schooler with a “special designated player” status in San-en NeoPhoenix in January 2020. Despite juggling between his team commitments and high school duties at Fukuoka Daiichi, he led his school to achieve back-to-back All-Japanese High School championships. This was only the beginning for Kawamura. Acquiring fame as the youngest player in B. League history, at a tender age of 18, he furthered his record by being the youngest one to score in a B. Despite the loss, Kawamura shone, scoring 29 points, and collecting 7 rebounds and 6 assists.
