Taurean Prince is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Atlanta Hawks in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on February 18, 1994 in San Antonio, Texas and attended Bryant High School.

Prince played college basketball at Baylor University, where he excelled on both ends of the court and earned Big 12 All-Defensive Team honors as a sophomore. After his junior season he declared for the 2016 NBA draft, becoming only the second Bear to do so since 1995. He was selected 12th overall by the Utah Jazz but was traded shortly after to Atlanta Hawks, with whom he has been ever since.

During his first two seasons in Atlanta Taurean established himself as a reliable role player despite limited minutes off of head coach Mike Budenholzer’s bench units. His highlight performance still came during his rookie season when he scored a career-high 22 points against Brooklyn Nets on April 1st 2017. This included four three pointers that seemed to signal his potential as a shooting threat from outside going forward into next season’s roster spot competition..

In 2018-2019 Taurean made tremendous strides offensively while starting all 78 games alongside fellow Hawk Trae Young.
