BIOGRAPHY

Cedi Osman is a professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on April 8, 1995 in Istanbul, Turkey. At a young age, he began playing basketball and quickly developed his passion for the game.

At 17 years old, Cedi signed with Anadolu Efes S.K., joining their youth team to begin his professional career. The following year he made his debut with Anadolu Efes’s senior squad and went on to have successful seasons from 2013-2016 where he was named Best Young Player in 2014 by Turkish Airlines Euroleague. After three years in Europe’s top tier league, Cedi decided it was time to make a move and declared for the 2015 NBA Draft.

The Cavaliers acquired Osman later that summer as part of a draft-day trade sending him off along with Rakeem Christmas and two second round picks to Cleveland in exchange for Tyus Jones and Jared Cunningham. During his rookie season with the Cavs, Cedi appeared 82 games (33 starts) while averaging 4 points per game while shooting 43 percent from beyond the arc at one point during that season which earned him recognition as an All-Rookie Second Team member by NBA media outlets but unfortunately due to an injury suffered late into 2018-19 season sidelined him from play time until playoffs began .
