Caleb Martin Bio
Caleb Martin is a professional basketball player from Mocksville, North Carolina. He was born on October 27th, 1996 and stands at 6 feet 7 inches tall. He attended college at Nevada, where he led the team to a Mountain West Conference Championship in 2018-2019.
Martin began playing basketball in middle school and played for Davie County High School in Mocksville, NC. After being named MVP of the state tournament his senior year of high school, Martin received several Division 1 offers but ultimately chose to attend Nevada due to its proximity to home and their coaching staff’s commitment to developing players both on and off the court.
At Nevada, Caleb thrived under head coach Eric Musselman’s system while appearing in 33 games as a freshman before surpassing that number with 36 appearances as a sophomore when he started all 34 regular season contests for the Wolf Pack. During this time he earned First Team All-Mountain West honors after averaging 18 points per game along with 5 rebounds and 2 assists during his junior campaign as well as leading Nevada back into March Madness for the first time since 2007.
After three successful years at Northern Virginia University (NU), Martin declared for the 2019 NBA Draft – becoming only one of two players from NU ever drafted by an NBA team -and was selected 36th overall by Denver Nuggets in June 2019; thus joining his twin brother Cody who had been previously drafted by Charlotte Hornets two years prior thus making them only fifth pair of brothers selected within same draft class by different teams since 1967NBA/ABA Merger .
Although still relatively young compared to other rookies entering 2019-2020 season , Caleb has already become key contributor off bench throughout first full season starting 14 out 54 appearances while averaging just over 5 points per game primarily coming off screens or curls around perimeter thus providing invaluable spacing which helps facilitates efficient passing lanes for Nikola Jokic & co . His ability catch fire virtually anywhere on floor allows him open passing angles which often results into wide open looks from 3 point range or even easy layups/ dunks Additionally , veteran leadership & mentorship provided by teammate players such Jamal Murray & Paul Millsap has allowed him mature rapidly resulting into more consistent performances throughout second half giving hope up rising star may have what it takes take next step towards stardom sooner rather than later .
