Al Horford is a professional basketball player in the NBA. He was born in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic on June 3rd 1986 where he grew up playing basketball with his father and uncles. He attended high school at the Grand Ledge High School in Michigan and then went on to play college basketball for the Florida Gators from 2004-2007, where he helped lead them to two SEC championships and two NCAA tournament appearances. After being drafted third overall by the Atlanta Hawks in 2007, Horford quickly established himself as one of the top players in the league earning four All-Star selections along with three All-Defensive Team honors during his nine seasons with Atlanta.
In 2016, Al Horford signed a four year contract with Boston Celtics becoming their prized free agent acquisition that summer. He’s been an integral part of Boston’s success ever since, helping lead them to an Eastern Conference Finals appearance during his first season there. With averages of 14 points per game over the course of his career, it is no surprise that he has become an integral part of some winning teams both past and present throughout his time in the league so far which includes stints within both Orlando Magic & Philadelphia 76ers rosters too; whilst also securing gold medals at both 2011 FIBA Americas Championship & 2014 Centrobasket tournaments amongst other international successes such as 2016 Rio Olympics silver medal – all while representing Dominican Republic proud too!
Off court though Al speaks 5 languages fluently including Spanish (native), English (fluent) French (basic knowledge) Italian & Portuguese (basic). When he isn’t busy training or playing ball you can usually find him spending quality time together with wife Amelia Vega – renowned singer/model/miss Universe 2003 winner whom he married back 2009 before having 3 children together 2013 onward – or sharing videos showcasing hobbies such as music production/djing etc either via Instagram or YouTube channels; proving that even outside work hours this guy clearly lives life full throttle! That said however; like most celebrities Al also faces scrutiny from media outlets due to outspoken political views shown online recently surrounding topics such as climate change – yet despite these potential risks it obviously hasn’t stopped him speaking out passionately about what matters internally cause when push comes shove sportsman alike will always support humanitarian causes they believe have true value longterm hopefully inspiring others do same too…
Ultimately it has been quite remarkable journey so far for 12x NBA season veteran since entering league 14 yrs ago but still plenty left give going forward which why we’ll definitely be keeping close eye progression future endeavours leading up retirement day whenever arrives!
