Luis Sangel Arráez, born on 9th of April, 1997, is a renowned Venezuelan professional baseball infielder currently signed with the San Diego Padres of the Major League Baseball (MLB). He was previously signed with the Minnesota Twins and Miami Marlins, winning accolades and honours for his stellar play.

He debuted in 2019 with the Minnesota Twins after joining as an international free agent in 2013. The following year, in 2022, Arráez won the American League batting title and a Silver Slugger Award and was named an All-Star – an indication of his emerging talent. Such was his finesse and control with the bat that his friends and fans fondly nicknamed him “La Regadera” or “The Sprinkler” in English.

On April 11, 2023, Arráez achieved a significant milestone. Playing against the Phillies, he hit for the cycle, becoming the first Marlins player to do so. He made MLB record the same year in June by having the most five-hit games in a single month.
