Jhonkensy Noel's Biography

Jhonkensy Albert Noel, born on July 15, 2001, in the Dominican Republic, and best known in the world of Major League Baseball (MLB) by his nickname, “Big Christmas,” is the embodiment of dedication, determination, and the absolute pursuit of excellence in baseball. Currently, he plays as a highly skilled professional baseball first baseman and outfielder for the Cleveland Guardians.

His journey into the world of professional baseball began on his birthday, July 15, in the year 2017, when he signed with the Cleveland Indians organization. As an international free agent, he brought a fresh wave of talent, the beginning of what would unfold into an illustrious sports career.

Jhonkensy Albert Noel showcased his talent to the world in the year 2018 when he made his professional debut with the Dominican Summer League Indians. The manner in which he ruled the field, backed by his strength and accuracy, became evident with his impressive batting average of .243, ten home runs, and 34 RBIs, all achieved over span of 64 electrifying games.

In 2019, the young player strutted his skills for the Arizona League Indians where he was an absolute revelation. With a batting average of .287, six home runs, and 42 RBIs achieved over 47 games, he demonstrated to everyone that he was more than just a talented player, but a rising star in the baseball world.

Unfortunately, his game time came to an abrupt halt in 2020, pulling him to the sidelines due to the cancellation of the minor league season. Nevertheless, Noel was relentless. He returned with a roaring vengeance in 2021, spending the year on a split between Arizona League, the Lynchburg Hillcats, and the Lake County Captains. Proving he still got it, he scored a remarkable .340/.390/.615 batting score, with 19 home runs and 66 RBIs over 70 games.

The rebranded Cleveland Guardians saw his potential and added Noel to their 40-man roster on November 19, 2021, securing him from the Rule 5 draft. In 2022, he split his time between the Lake County Captains, the Double–A Akron RubberDucks, and the Triple–A Columbus Clippers, hitting a joint .229/.310/.489 with a staggering 32 home runs and 84 RBIs.

The journey for Noel, however, was not without its detours. At the start of the 2023 season, he was optioned to Triple-A Columbus. The talented slugger spent the entire season with the Clippers, batting .220/.303/.420 with 27 home runs and 85 RBIs.

On March 12, 2024, Noel was cut from the major league spring training camp. However, he was undeterred, returning to Triple–A Columbus to start the new year. Then came what many would call his major break. On June 26, 2024, he made his major league debut against the Baltimore Orioles, etching his name in the history books with a homerun recorded in his first major league at-bat.

Such is the story of Jhonkensy Albert Noel — a tale of the rise of a baseball versifier, an athlete who weaves records with every swipe of his bat, setting the field ablaze with his inimitable blend of grit and grandeur.
