Gerrit Alan Cole, often seen gracing Major League Baseball (MLB) stadiums as a professional pitcher for the New York Yankees, emerged into the world on September 8, 1990. With previous associations to the Pittsburgh Pirates and Houston Astros, Cole has distinguished himself as a steadfast presence on the baseball field.

Born and raised in the sunny state of California, Cole nurtured his passion for baseball at Orange Lutheran High School. It was here that his exceptional talent drew the attention of the New York Yankees, who selected him in the first round of the 2008 MLB Draft. Despite this potential leap to a professional career, Cole decided to further refine his skills at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), turning down the Yankees’ offer.
