Connor David Norby, a professional American baseball player, was born on June 8, 2000. Known by many as a diligent and skilled second baseman, he is currently a part of the Miami Marlins, a team part of Major League Baseball (MLB). In the wake of his praiseworthy college performance, the Baltimore Orioles chose him in the second round of the 2021 MLB draft, making him the 41st overall pick. Norby officially joined the team on July 16, 2021, and was rewarded with a $1.7 million bonus.
Initiating his professional career at the Rookie level, Norby was assigned to the Florida Complex League Orioles. His flourish didn’t halt, as he was soon promoted to the Delmarva Shorebirds of the Low-A East. He joined the Norfolk Tides, leaving memorable footprints in the Triple-A National Championship Game, scoring two runs, an RBI, walks, and a homer. His striking homer happened in the ninth inning against the Oklahoma City Dodgers, bringing the victory to the Norfolk Tides by 7-6.
Norby spent his 2023 season with Norfolk, playing in 138 games. His performance stayed consistent throughout. With average statistics of .290/.359/.483, 21 home runs, 92 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases, he was a marvel.
His 2024 season started with Norfolk as well, delivering an average of .286/.374/.510, nine home runs, 36 RBI, and seven stolen bases across 51 games. On June 3, 2024, the Orioles took him to the major leagues by selecting him to the 40-man roster.
