Adam Timothy Frazier, born on December 14, 1991, is a professional baseball player hailing from America. Frazier’s versatile sportsmanship is reflected across his roles as a second baseman, third baseman, and outfielder; currently, he contributes his athletic prowess to the Kansas City Royals in Major League Baseball (MLB). Along his journey in the world of professional baseball, Frazier has previously showcased his talent and skills while playing in the MLB for renowned teams including the Pittsburgh Pirates, the San Diego Padres, the Seattle Mariners, and the Baltimore Orioles.

Born in Georgia and graduating in 2010, Frazier’s early inclinations towards baseball were evident as he attended Oconee County High School in Watkinsville. As part of the school’s well-established baseball team, Frazier’s exceptional performance led him to record 53 doubles, a feat that stands as the second most in the history of the Georgia High School Association. His sports journey ascended as he enrolled at Mississippi State University, further nourishing his skills by representing the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the realm of college baseball.

Throughout his college years, Frazier’s career experienced manifold accomplishments. He played sparingly as a freshman but accelerated his progress in his sophomore year – 2012. Frazier set a Mississippi State record during the season with 227 assists, duly being named the most valuable player of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Baseball Tournament. Apart from being selected to represent the United States on the national collegiate baseball team, he enjoyed a plethora of achievements. In 2013 – Frazier’s junior season – he exceeded expectations by leading the National Collegiate Athletic Association in terms of 107 hits, resulting in the establishment of a Bulldogs’ single-season record whilst also setting school records for the season’s assists (240) and putouts (120) as well as career putouts (375).

Recognizing his potential, the Pittsburgh Pirates selected Frazier in the 2013 MLB draft with the 179th overall selection in the sixth round. The signing included an impressive bonus of $240,600, marking the onset of Frazier’s professional career. His initial assignment was with the Jamestown Jammers of the Low–A New York–Penn League where he spent the remainder of the season, playing in 58 games and accumulating a notably decent record. He continued his journey in 2014, playing for the Bradenton Marauders of the High–A Florida State League, exclaiming a productive season with a batting average of .252, one home run, and 42 RBIs recorded across 121 games.

Frazier’s subsequent path saw him playing for the Altoona Curve of the Double–A Eastern League in 2015. He excelled at maintaining a .324 batting average, which stood as the league’s highest. His performance was impressive, with two home runs and 30 RBIs amassed across 103 games. The end of the season witnessed Frazier further his contributions by playing for the Glendale Desert Dogs of the Arizona Fall League and the United States baseball team in the 2015 WBSC Premier12. His commendable efforts were aptly recognized as Frazier was named to the All-Premier 12 Team as a second baseman.

The following year brought new endeavors as the Pirates invited Frazier to spring training. He commenced the season with the Indianapolis Indians of the Triple–A International League. The subsequent span witnessed Frazier’s promotion to the MLB in June, with his MLB debut being against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Prior to the promotion, Frazier had been going strong, slashing .333/.401/.425 with 22 RBIs across 68 games. The remaining season was mostly spent with Pittsburgh, with Frazier batting .301 across 66 games.

In 2017, Frazier enjoyed his first full season in Pittsburgh, achieving a batting average of .276 across 121 games. He continued to impress in 2018 and 2019, maintaining a promising track record. However, the Covid-Shortened 2020 season saw Frazier’s performance falter, with a career-low slash line of .230/.297/.364 in 58 games. Despite the setback, Frazier rebounded and was subsequently named the National League’s starting second baseman at the 2021 Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Denver, acknowledging his steadfastness and resilience. He was also traded to the San Diego Padres in July.

Events took a turn as the Padres traded Frazier to the Seattle Mariners in November. While his offensive statistics saw a decline, this period allowed him to achieve career-highs by playing in 156 games and stealing 11 bases. By December of the same year, Frazier signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Orioles. Although he experienced few hiccups during the season, Frazier continued his MLB journey and in January 2024, he signed a one-year contract with the Kansas City Royals.
