📖 Did Not Play (DNP) and Game Completion Rules
Sport-Specific Minimum Play Requirements
An athlete must enter the event and record the minimum participation required for that sport, as described below, for a selection to remain active.
If the athlete does not meet the applicable requirement, the selection may be marked void.
If a player was publicly known to be omitted from the starting lineup or was a clear rotation or rest candidate before the event began,
Waged War may grade that selection as a loss rather than mark it void.
Voids are generally reserved for last-minute, verifiable events such as injuries during warm-ups, official late withdrawals, or match abandonment.
If official statistics are not published within 24 hours of contest completion, the entry may be refunded based on the affected selection(s).
| Sport | Minimum Play Requirement | Exceptions & Notes on Early Endings |
|---|---|---|
| NFL / NBA / NHL | Player records a single snap (NFL) or second of play (NBA/NHL). |
Injury Protection (Optional): At our discretion, a pick may be graded as a DNP only if an eligible player exits the game due to injury in the first half before meaningful participation in the first half. This protection is not guaranteed, is subject to account eligibility and tier limits, and will not be applied if it would conflict with applicable entry or payout restrictions. |
| MLB (Hitter) | Player is in the starting batting lineup or records at least one plate appearance. | If a game is suspended or shortened but declared an Official Game by MLB, selections are graded based on the official final statistics. |
| MLB (Pitcher) | Pitcher records at least one pitch thrown in the game. | |
| Tennis (Single Match) | Both players must start the match and complete at least one full game. |
If a player retires or is disqualified after the first full game is completed, selections for that match are graded using the official final statistics. If retirement or disqualification occurs before the first full game is completed, the selection is marked DNP. |
| NASCAR / F1 / Golf | Athlete officially starts the race, round, or tournament. | If the event is canceled and no official winner or final standings are declared by the applicable league or tour, the selection is marked DNP. |
| eSports (LoL, CS2, etc.) | Player is listed in the starting lineup and records stats in at least one map of the scheduled match. | If the entire match is canceled or postponed beyond the applicable grading window, the selection is marked DNP. |
