Seth Henigan's Biography

Seth Henigan, born on March 10, 2003, an American football player whose special function is quarterbacking for the Memphis Tigers, college football team. His football journey started in high school specifically at Billy Ryan High School, located in Denton, Texas. Driven by talent, skill and a serious commitment to the sports, Henigan quickly showed his exceptional abilities on the football field. Between the years 2018 to 2020, he masterfully commanded football games leading Denton Ryan to an impressive 39-2 record and accumulating 7,234 passing yards. Henigan’s exceptional performance saw him complete 79 passing touchdowns with only 14 interceptions during this period.

In 2021, as a true freshman, Henigan won the starting quarterback job at Memphis, a great feat which distinguished him as the first true freshman to kick-start a season opener in the rich and storied history of the Memphis football program. In his debut appearance with the Tigers, Henigan showcased his exceptional quarterback skills by throwing for 265 yards on 19 out of 32 attempts, including one touchdown score. This culminated in a whopping 42-17 victory over Nicholls State. Continuing his all-star performance in his second collegiate game, Henigan threw for 417 yards and five touchdowns against Arkansas State. His remarkable display earned him the prestigious National Player of the Week.

In week six of what was shaping up to be a phenomenal season, against a strong Tulsa side, Henigan completed an impressive 34 of 57 passes for a season-high 463 yards, alongside two touchdowns and two interceptions. Despite his best efforts, however, the Tigers were defeated. He concluded his freshman season with a remarkable 3,322 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions.

In 2022, his sophomore year was marked with several highlights. Against Navy, Hennigan threw for a season-best 415 yards leading the Tigers to a significant victory. He then led his team to a hard-fought victory against Utah State in the 2022 First Responder Bowl and was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of that game.

Turning the pages to the year 2023, Hennigan set a new record in his conference by throwing for a whopping 3,883 yards on 318 of 476 attempts. He strategically led 32 successful touchdowns with only nine intercepted passes. This milestone saw him lead the Tigers to their first 10 win season since 2019. Displaying his abilities in the 2023 Liberty Bowl against Iowa State, he threw for an impressive 364 yards and four touchdowns, earning him yet another MVP award.

In the third week of the 2024 season, Hennigan led the Tigers to a memorable victory over Florida State. With 272 yards completed over 25 out of 38 attempts, two touchdowns, and an interception, he extended his streak of throwing a touchdown pass every game of his career to 40 games, earning him the AAC Offensive Player of the Week. This tied him with Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield for the third-longest streak in NCAA history. He further extended this streak to 41 games in a narrow loss against Navy. His streak tied him with Marcus Mariota’s record, another Heisman Trophy winner, marking the second-longest streak in FBS history. Despite the streak coming to an end the subsequent week during a match against Middle Tennessee, Henigan made Memphis history by throwing a game-winning touchdown pass in the last minute against Charlotte, becoming the all-time touchdown leader. He surpassed Brady White’s 90 touchdowns mark.
