Marquez Cooper is a highly skilled and renowned running back in American Football. Currently associated with the San Diego State Aztecs, he was born circa 2001. His youthful years were spent in Gaithersburg, Maryland’s vibrant city, where he attended Quince Orchard High School. There, he became significantly involved in the school’s football team, completing two seasons with an impressive record. Cooper successfully rushed for 2,897 yards and accomplished 51 touchdowns during this period, cementing his status as a promising young talent in the world of football.

At the start of his career, he embodied the essence of competitive spirit and dedication to the game. Recognizing his potential and contribution to the sport, Kent State offered Cooper a scholarship in the Fall of 2020. He accepted this golden opportunity and embraced a new phase in his life.

The year 2020 presented challenges globally due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but for Cooper, it became a platform to showcase his unrivaled talent. Although the season was constricted in its timeline, he started and played in all four games of the season for Kent State. His first-ever college football game against Eastern Michigan began with a bang as he ran for 74 yards on 15 carries. His trajectory only improved from here: in the succeeding game against Bowling Green, he achieved his initial two collegiate touchdowns. On the third week, his game against Akron saw him setting a season-high record of 107 yards and three touchdowns. The season ended with Cooper leading the Golden Flashes with 282 yards and five touchdowns in total.

2021 saw Cooper in his sophomore year, during which he compelled the world to sit up and take note of his talent. He rushed for 1,205 yards and 11 touchdowns, factors that led to his achievement of First team All-MAC. The sophomore participated in 14 games, in seven of which he ran for over 110 yards.

The year 2022 witnessed Cooper in his junior year, promising another consecutive 1,000-yard season. In an unforgettable game against Ohio on October 1, Cooper set career highs with 40 carries and 240 rushing yards. By the end of the season, he had amassed 1,331 yards and 13 touchdowns. His stellar performance earned him the First-team All-MAC honor in 2022, refreshing from his position in the second team in the previous year.

In December 2022, Cooper decided to transfer to Ball State. His third week here saw a season high of 177 yards on 22 carries. This bout earned them a victory over Indiana State. Throughout the season, he managed 1,043 yards on 227 carries with four touchdowns. This marked his third continuous 1,000-yard rushing season. Cooper achieved more than 100 yards in four games and was named Second team All-MAC for the second time in his career.

April 27, 2024, marked the commencement of a new chapter in Cooper’s life when he transferred to San Diego State. He reunited with head coach Sean Lewis, with whom he had previously completed three seasons at Kent State. Entering the season as the FBS’s leading rusher with 3,856 career yards and 33 rushing touchdowns, Cooper brought immense energy to the Aztecs team.

In his debut game for the Aztecs against Texas A&M–Commerce, Cooper showcased his prowess by running for 223 yards and assisting in two touchdowns with 27 carries. This triumphant run ensured victory for his team and evinced that Cooper is an unmatched force in American football.
