LeQuint Allen Bio
LeQuint Allen Jr., a native of Millville, New Jersey, was born on August 5, 2004. A full-blooded American, he is most widely recognized for his tremendous contributions to the Syracuse Orange football team. Primarily, LeQuint excels in the running back position, instilling fear and respect in the hearts of his opponents.
Raised amidst the peaceful and serene vibes of Millville, Allen was very sports-driven from a young age. Attending high school in his hometown, he quickly established himself as a top-tier athlete. During his junior year, he achieved some truly impressive statistics: over 670 yards were covered by his rushing, and he scored ten touchdowns. On top of that, he completed 33 receptions for 284 yards. However, Allen didn’t just excel offensively – his defensive capabilities were also praiseworthy. He made 84 tackles, boasted six sacks, and achieved three interceptions in his junior season alone.
Allen’s senior year was also profound. During the fourth week, he had a career-best performance by achieving a total of six touchdowns. These fantastic performances didn’t go unnoticed. In 2022, Allen was bestowed the prestigious honor of New Jersey’s Gatorade Player of the Year.
Coming out of high school, Allen, rated as a three-star recruit, received multitudinous college offers. However, his heart seemed to have aligned with that of Syracuse Orange. Thus, he committed to play college football for the aforementioned team.
Allen’s freshman year with the Syracuse Orange was a story of trials and tribulations. His debut match was at the 2022 Pinstripe Bowl in which he left a significant mark, rushing for 94 yards and making 11 receptions for 60 yards. Throughout his freshman year, he rushed for 274 yards, made a touchdown on 41 carries, and hauled in 17 receptions for 117 yards, and scored another touchdown.
However, his freshman year was also marred by some controversy. On December 9, 2022, to defend former teammate Duce Chestnut, Allen got into a brawl on the university campus. Subsequently, he was charged with third-degree assault. Consequently, Allen faced suspension from the team for the entire 2023 season.
Unwilling to accept this decision quietly, Allen decided to sue the University and attempt to overturn his suspension. After some legal proceedings, the university reached an agreement with Allen on July 12. As per the agreement, Allen was allowed to rejoin the football team on August 15 and return to the classroom for the fall semester.
Allen made an assertive comeback in the 2023 season. In the first week, he rushed for 107 yards in a win over Wofford, and scored a touchdown. Throughout the season, he rushed for 1,064 yards, managed nine touchdowns on 245 carries, and made 38 receptions for 210 yards. Allen also scored another touchdown. His remarkable comeback earned him the honor of being named second team all-ACC.
Also, the 2024 football season saw Allen as the starting running back for the Syracuse Orange. His powerful performance in game one against Ohio was instrumental to their victory. He rushed for 98 yards and scored a crucial touchdown.
Tragedy struck on February 14, 2023, when Allen’s father, LeQuint Allen Sr., was tragically shot and killed after an argument with Thomas Baker. This adversity proved to be a significant test for the young athlete, but he persevered and continued his sparkling football career.
