Kris Mitchell, born on the 2nd of November, 2000, stands as a renowned American football wide receiver currently playing for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Initiated within the humble setting of Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida, he rose to prominence playing for the FIU Panthers before making his considerable mark with the Irish. Mitchell’s stirring journey sprouted in Jacksonville, Florida, where he had his early education at Mandarin High School. His passion for football was ignited and honed at this youthful stage. As a redshirt in 2019, Mitchell garnered valuable experience from the sidelines, advancing his understanding of the game while gradually integrating into the college football fold. The subsequent two seasons were characterized by comparatively limited play time, yet Mitchell was undeterred, showing glimpses of his potential in the opportunities he did get on the field.

Breakthrough would come to Kris in the year 2022. Despite the previous seasons’ limited action, Mitchell displayed considerable tenacity, recording 23 receptions for 348 yards and four touchdowns – figures that marked his ascent in college football. His star continued to brighten the following season, where, against Maine, he recorded a career-high 201 receiving yards and two touchdowns, masterminding a 14-12 victory for the FIU Panthers.

Mitchell’s 2023 season has since been stamped in FIU’s history books. Emerging as a reliable receiver, he recorded a staggering 1,118 receiving yards in the season – a school-record at FIU – cementing himself as an unmistakable asset to the team. Accompanying these impressive yards were 64 receptions and seven touchdowns, underscoring Mitchell’s tremendous impact.

However, the end of the season signaled a new chapter for Kris Mitchell. On November 28, 2023, he announced his intention to enter the transfer portal in search of fresh challenges to further refine him as a football player. Barely a week later, on December 5, 2023, Mitchell declared his next step: a transfer to the University of Notre Dame.
