Kelley Joiner's Biography

The 2024 South Florida Bulls Football Team is preparing to represent the University of South Florida (USF) in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) during the 2024 NCAA Division I FBS football season. This energetic team will be playing home games at the famous Raymond James Stadium, situated in Tampa, Florida. The squad is under the seasoned leadership of Alex Golesh, who is serving his second year as the team’s head coach.

The coaching staff has seen several new entrants in 2024. FIU cornerbacks coach DeMarcus Van Dyke was enlisted into the team, filling the position of the cornerbacks coach. Micah James, previously an offensive analyst for the Tennessee team, has been brought on board as the running backs coach. The team has also welcomed De’Vonte Danzey, formerly of Albany, to serve as a quality control analyst focusing on the offensive line. From West Alabama, the defensive line coach Larry Scott III joined as a quality control analyst, concentrating his efforts on managing the defensive line.

However, with the arrival of new faces also came the departure of several coaching staff members from the Bulls. Associate Head Coach, Run Game Coordinator, and Running Back Coach Matt Merritt left the team to coach for Miami (FL). Cornerbacks Coach Matt Birkett was let go from the team, and Tight ends Coach Clay Patterson took up a new role as the co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach for Kent State.

The 2024 season has also seen a few promotions within the Bulls. Offensive Line Coach Tyler Hudanick was promoted to Run Game Coordinator along with his existing role. Meanwhile, Wide Receivers Coach L’Damian Washington elevated to the position of Pass Game Coordinator. Additionally, Senior Offensive Quality Control Analyst Jack Taylor was promoted to the role of Tight Ends Coach.

Despite the team’s professional progress, they experienced a tragic loss in June 2024. Redshirt sophomore tight end Teigan Martin, a valuable member of the team, passed away in a single-car accident while on a family visit in Carver County, Minnesota. The team mourns his loss deeply, remembering his contribution to the Bulls.

The Bulls are scheduled to play at a few notable stadiums throughout the season, including the Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and the M. M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. They also have matches planned at the Yulman Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana, and the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. Games are also slated at the FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Florida, and the Jerry Richardson Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. They are also preparing for games at the Rice Stadium in Houston, Texas, and the Clarence T. C. Ching Athletics Complex in Honolulu.

This season, the South Florida Bulls are forging ahead with renewed vigor, preparing to take the season by storm under the leadership of seasoned coaches and talented players. They carry with them the memories of their beloved teammate, Teigan Martin, using his memory as a source of strength and motivation.
