The much-anticipated spring practices kicked off on March 26, 2024, and anticipation was high for the Spring Game scheduled to take place on April 27, 2024, in the team’s home city of Tucson. The Preseason poll was publicized on July 2, 2024, igniting the excitement for the new season.

However, the year was not without its departures and new beginnings. In the off-season, the Wildcats found 42 players leaving the team for various reasons. Of these, five graduated, eleven declared for the NFL Draft, and 26 entered the transfer portal. In spite of the departures, the Wildcats brought in 27 players via transfer. Their recruitment secured the No. 37 spot in 247 Sports’ national transfer class rankings.

The Wildcats’ key signings provided exciting potential for the robust 2024 squad. They penned contracts with eight players during the 2024 recruiting cycle, securing promising prospects for future seasons. 247Sports ranked the recruitment fifty-sixth whereas Rivals.com placed it forty-sixth. While no signees ranked in ESPN’s top 300 prospects, four players signed from JuCo alongside six walk-ons during the national signing period, demonstrating the breadth of talent recruited by the Wildcats.
