Jaxson Dart's Biography

Born on May 13, 2003, in Kaysville, Utah, Jaxson Chase Dart is an American football player who is nationally renowned for his role as quarterback for the Ole Miss Rebels. Dart made his mark in the world of American football at a pretty young age and has made a name for himself ever since. His journey from a small town in Utah to playing quarterback for one of the leading teams in college football is nothing short of incredible.

Dart is the eldest of four siblings and received his early education at Roy High School, where he spent his initial three years. Later, he transferred to Corner Canyon High School located in Draper, Utah. During his senior year, Dart emerged as a football sensation by setting a state record when he passed for 4,691 yards with an impressive 67 touchdowns and only four interceptions. This outstanding performance led to his winning the Gatorade Football Player of the Year title.

A man of many talents, Dart was not just confined to football. He concurrently played as a third baseman for the high school baseball team and was recognized as an all-state third baseman.

As Dart’s prowess on the football field grew, offers from various universities started pouring in. Despite being offered a position on the Arizona State University football team and spending his off-season training with former ASU quarterback Taylor Kelly in Tempe, Arizona, Dart decided to commit to the University of Southern California (USC) to play college football.

At USC, Dart had the opportunity to compete for the backup position to Kedon Slovis in his first year, during 2021’s Spring Game. Dart’s impressive arm strength and agility caught the eye of the coaches, as he threw a touchdown pass to his fellow teammate Michael Jackson III during the game’s final moments. This accomplishment was even more impressive due to the one-handed diving catch that Jackson had to perform for the touchdown to be successful.

However, it was during a game against Washington State, that Dart truly made his mark. Dart was brought onto the field to replace an injured Slovis, in USC’s first game following the firing of coach Clay Helton. Although Dart threw an interception during his first drive, he impressively managed to recover by throwing a 38-yard touchdown pass just before halftime. Dart completed the match with an impressive stat line, throwing four touchdowns and completing 30 out of 46 attempted passes which equated to 391 yards. This record-breaking performance set a whole new record at USC for the most passing yards by a quarterback during his debut, breaking JT Daniels’ previously established record.

In November of 2021, Dart made his first career start against UCLA. Following the 2021 season, amid rumors that Oklahoma QB Caleb Williams would follow Lincoln Riley, the newly hired coach at USC, Dart decided to embrace change and transferred to Ole Miss through the NCAA transfer portal. Accompanied by his USC teammate Michael Trigg, Dart continues his college football career as the primary starting quarterback under the leadership of head coach Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss.

Apart from his impressive sporting achievements, Dart also manages to find a balance between his football career and personal faith. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Dart is not only recognized for his quarterbacks skills but also for his values and his faith. His talent, work ethic, and faith have made Dart a role model for aspiring football players at Ole Miss and nationwide.
