His skills and natural talent were honed in the rustic playing fields of his hometown before being curtailed into finesse at the Tyler Legacy High School. Even in his early years, Miller dominated school football, emerging as one of the top players on his high school team.

His stellar performances as a junior caught the attention of many nationwide. Miller took the Texas high school football scene by storm, racing through defenses with astonishing ease. His stats alone speak volumes for his prowess. As a junior, he tallied impressive figures running for 1,631 yards and marking a remarkable 20 touchdowns. His skills only seemed to grow exponentially, as evidenced by his senior year statistics. His rushes amounted to 166 carries for 1,406 yards and led to 13 touchdowns. Moreover, his grip on the ball reflected in 29 receptions for 380 yards and an additional six touchdowns.

Over his high school career, Miller etched his name amongst the best in the sport, setting the Tyler Legacy records with a total of 4,908 rushing yards and 65 touchdowns. Jam Miller was hailed as a four-star prospect and ranked the fourth-best running back nationally by 247Sports. He was also placed in the coveted position of the 78th-best player overall.

Initially, Miller committed to playing college football for the Texas Longhorns, aligning with his Texan roots. However, the call of the Crimson Tide enticed him, and he flipped his commitment to the Alabama football team. As a freshman at Alabama in 2022, Miller began his legacy playing behind Roydell Williams and Jase McClellan. He quickly marked his presence with 33 rushes for 233 yards and two touchdowns.

Despite remaining a backup to Williams and McClellan in 2023, Miller’s performance remained undeterred. He totalled 41 rushes for 201 yards and a touchdown, coupled with four receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown.
