Ethan’s stint at UCLA saw him quite literally get back in the game. The tenth week of the 2021 season was particularly memorable as it marked his first career start. Against all odds, Garbers demonstrated commendable resolve, completing 27 out of his 44 passes for 265 yards. His delivery included two touchdowns but also an interception, which added to the learning curve. Despite his valiant effort, the Bruins succumbed to a 44-24 loss against Utah.

By the end of the 2021 season, Garbers had managed to complete 31 of his 51 passes that gained a total of 305 yards. This tally included two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions.
