Elic Ayomanor's Biography

Elic Cordell Ayomanor, popularly known as EL-ick EYE-yo-MAN-oor, was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, circa 2003. A Canadian gridiron football wide receiver who now plays for Stanford Cardinal, Ayomanor’s unique story and persistent drive for success have propelled him into the limelight of international football. Despite going through early career injuries and academic movements, Ayomanor has triumphed against all odds, bagging prestigious awards and setting unbeatable records.

Born in the iconic city of Medicine Hat, Ayomanor spent his early life in Alberta, enjoying the privilege of belonging to a rich Canadian heritage with family roots extended to Kincaid, Saskatchewan. He started his academic journey at Medicine Hat High School, where his ventures in football commenced. Still very much determined to enhance his football skill sets beyond the standard Canadian educational landscape, he later moved to the U.S. where he attended two different schools.

First, he transferred to Peddie School in New Jersey for a year, embarking on a rigorous journey to become a seasoned football player. He later completed his last two years of high school at Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Massachusetts. Here, Ayomanor was not only an exceptional football player but also a star track athlete. His track performance was awe-inspiring, setting league records in the 100 and 200 meters, clocking in at 10.76 and 21.66 seconds respectively.

In this period, he was rated a top 10 recruit in Massachusetts – an honor that catapulted his reputation within the sports industry. Hence, attractive scholarship offers were inevitable from reputable universities, including the distinguished Stanford University, and other esteemed institutions such as Notre Dame, California, Tennessee, and Ole Miss.

In 2022, Ayomanor enrolled at Stanford University, a decision that marked a turning point in his burgeoning career. Despite not making any appearances as a freshman due to injuries, Ayomanor relentlessly pushed for a comeback. It was during a match against Colorado on October 13, 2023, that he wrote his name in the annals of Stanford University’s gridiron history.

He caught 13 passes, accumulating a school-record 294 receiving yards, thereby launching Stanford to a triumphant comeback after initially trailing by 29 points. Ayomanor’s skill shone through as he scored three touchdown receptions, including an iconic overtime catch. He skillfully pulled the ball over Travis Hunter’s helmet, a Colorado player, a feat that added drama and cemented his growing reputation.

In the same year, Ayomanor won the 2023 Jon Cornish Trophy, awarded to the top Canadian player in the NCAA. It was a well-deserved reward for an exceptional player whose hard work, resilience, and mastery of the game have set him apart.
