Caden Prieskorn's Biography
Caden Reed Prieskorn is an esteemed American football player, currently showcasing his talent as a tight end for the Ole Miss Rebels; an NCAA Division I team. Born on September 21, 1999, Prieskorn’s journey to his current position has been marked by an unparalleled commitment to the sport and the courage to take risks. Prior to joining the ranks of the Ole Miss Rebels, Prieskorn was a valued member of the Memphis Tigers’ football team.
The seeds of Prieskorn’s football career were sown in his high school years at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s High School in Orchard Lake Village, Michigan. During this stage of his life, Prieskorn played as a quarterback and showcased a natural talent that shone through every match. In his junior year, his performance was instrumental in vigorously leading Orchard Lake to the State Championship. He demonstrated his prowess on the field, throwing for 200 yards and scoring two touchdowns in an amazing display that solidified his reputation in the championship game.
Upon graduation, the talented quarterback took a step further in his academic and sports career by enrolling at Fork Union Military Academy for his postgraduate studies. However, a desire to play football at a higher level lead Prieskorn to take the bold decision of walking-on at the University of Memphis.
Once a Tiger at Memphis, Prieskorn made a significant switch in his football career, transitioning from the position of quarterback to tight end. This change revealed the flexibility of his talent as he adapted to his new role. His time at Memphis marked a period of development and growth; he redshirted in 2019 and played sporadically over the next two years.
It was during the 2022 season that Prieskorn’s performance distinctly increased, remarkably recording fifteen receptions and four touchdowns within the first four games. Throughout the season, he consistently produced high-tier results accumulating 48 receptions for 602 yards and seven touchdowns. Thanks to this outstanding performance, he garnered significant recognition becoming a semifinalist for the esteemed John Mackey Award.
However, in a surprising twist, despite reports suggesting he would stay with the Memphis Tigers, Prieskorn made the decision to put his talent on the line and entered the transfer portal. On January 9, 2023, he officially announced that he would be transferring to the University of Mississippi.
His first season as a member of the Ole Miss Rebels saw Prieskorn record 20 receptions for 313 yards and two touchdowns. His talent wasn’t missed on the grand stage either; his standout performances continued into the prestigious 2023 Peach Bowl where he caught ten passes for an impressive career-high of 136 yards and two touchdowns. This remarkable performance landed Prieskorn the honor of being named the game’s Offensive MVP, solidifying his reputation as an essential asset to the Ole Miss Rebels and shaping a football legacy that continues to inspire.
