Byrum Brown, an accomplished American footballer, was born on the 29th of September in 2004. He currently holds the position of quarterback in the South Florida Bulls football team. Having been brought up in Raleigh, North Carolina, his football journey started at an early age in Rolesville High School. He demonstrated superior command and prowess on the football field, recording an impressive statistic of completing 464 out of his 758 passes for a total of 8,122 yards and an astounding 87 touchdowns to 21 interceptions. Moreover, Brown showcased his versatility by rushing for 2,074 yards and 26 touchdowns.

In recognition of his exceptional talent, Brown made a decisive move to further his career by committing to play college football at the University of South Florida. His debut performance as a starter came in the South Florida Bulls’ 2022 football season, in a match against Tulsa. Despite a 42-48 defeat for the Bulls, Brown carved out a notable performance, completing 21 out of his 25 passes for 240 yards and three touchdowns. Furthermore, he managed to add 76 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Brown ended the 2022 season with a remarkable record of completing 36 of his 50 passes for 404 yards and five touchdowns. However, he did not limit himself to passing alone; he ended the season having rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns.

In 2023, due to his outstanding performance, Brown was named South Florida’s starting quarterback. His season kicked off with a breakthrough performance in the second week, where Brown completed 20 of his 34 pass attempts for 197 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for two touchdowns. His performance was instrumental in helping South Florida snap an eleven-game losing streak by beating Florida A&M. Week four saw Brown further outshine himself by completing 22 out of his 29 pass attempts for a staggering 435 yards and two touchdowns. In the same match, he rushed for 82 yards, propelling the Bulls to a victory against Rice.

In recognition of his exceptional skill and contribution to the game, Brown was named the AAC Offensive Player of the Week, the Davey O’Brian Award “Great 8” Quarterbacks of the Week, and the Manning Award “Stars of the Week”. In the fifth week, Brown led the Bulls to snap a 19-game losing streak on the road by defeating Navy, 44-30. In that game, Brown completed 26 of his 34 pass attempts for 338 yards and three touchdowns without throwing any interceptions. Despite suffering a week 9 loss to the Memphis Tigers, Brown had a big game, completing 31 of his 39 pass attempts for 357 yards, five touchdowns and one interception, while rushing for 100 yards on 23 attempts.

He wrapped up the regular season by setting and breaking USF quarterback records, including surpassing the USF’s single-season passing yards record that was previously set by Quinton Flowers and Matt Grothe, and becoming the program’s first 3,000-yard passer. Overall, Brown solidified his position as one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in the nation, finishing first in the AAC and 7th in FBS in total yards (3,823) and total yards per game (318.6), and held the first position in the AAC and 12th in FBS in points responsible for (17.3 ppg).

The cherry on top of Brown’s triumphant season came when he led the South Florida Bulls to a 45-0 victory over Syracuse Orange in the Boca Raton Bowl. In this match, Brown completed 19 of 26 pass attempts for 214 yards and three touchdowns and added 64 rushing yards on 14 attempts, earning him the prestigious title of Offensive MVP.
