Bryson Daily's Biography
Bryson Daily, an exceptionally talented athlete raised in Abernathy, Texas, has soared to prominence as an American football quarterback for the Army Black Knights. Bryson’s formative years and high school career, college football journey, and impressive achievements on the gridiron form the compelling narrative of a rising star in American football.
Daily was a product of the humble roots of Abernathy, spending his early life in the close-knit Texas community. Abernathy High School was where Daily honed his athletic skills and garnered noteworthy recognition in multiple sports. He proved to be incredibly versatile, lettering in football, basketball, and baseball.
His football prowess was particularly impressive in high school, a signal to his potential glory. Daily’s robust record from this period makes for astonishing reading. He completed 314 of his 646 pass attempts in high school, translating into a whopping 4,833 yards, 64 touchdowns, and 40 interceptions. But his capabilities extended beyond merely passing. Daily was also a powerful and relentless rusher, amassing 6,326 yards and a staggering 97 touchdowns. He even showcased an ability to receive, with two receptions for 77 yards.
Facing the challenging decision on where to continue his football career, Daily ultimately chose to take his talents to the United States Military Academy. Here, Daily would take another step in his athletic journey by playing for the Army Black Knights.
The 2021 season marked Daily’s true freshman year at the Academy. Although he only appeared in one game that season, it was just the start of his journey in the college football world. Daily’s participation increased the following season in 2022 when he played in five games. The season culminated with 12 rushing attempts for 163 yards and two touchdowns, promising for a freshman. Notably, in the Week 7 game against Louisiana–Monroe, Daily, displaying his rushing finesse, made his first career touchdown while running for 64 yards. And in the Week 11 game against UMass, he continued his fine form, running six times for 79 yards and a touchdown.
Daily’s star continued to rise as he entered the 2023 season. He started the season on a high note, earning a place on the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List, a prestigious distinction in his budding career. The season also brought his first career start as a quarterback against Louisiana-Monroe.
Some games, particularly in the earlier weeks of the 2023 season, stood as testament to Daily’s growing prowess and tremendous potential. In the Week 2 game against Delaware State, Daily’s skills were on full display as he successfully completed eight out of 11 passing attempts, or 193 yards, and threw for three touchdowns. He also ran for 65 yards and landed two rushing touchdowns on just nine carries.
However, football is not without its hurdles and challenges. Daily was no exception, facing setbacks that tested him. The Week 4 game against Syracuse saw him struggle, completing only nine out of 21 passing attempts for 145 yards, involving one touchdown and two interceptions. An unfortunate leg injury in the Week 6 game against Troy forced him to leave the field before halftime, an unexpected and dramatic end to his performance, which included three successful passing attempts for 15 yards and 46 rushing yards on 10 attempts.
