The 2024 Texas State Bobcats football team has the honor of representing Texas State University in the Sun Belt Conference’s highly competitive West Division. The world of college football was buzzing when, on December 27, 2023, a day following the Bobcats’ emphatic win in the First Responder Bowl, it was announced that defensive coordinator Jonathan Patke had been appointed as Duke’s defensive coordinator. The Bobcats, however, were buoyed on February 6, 2024, when reports revealed that safeties coach Dexter McCoil would step up as a defensive coordinator, filling the void left by Patke.
