Ashton Jeanty's Biography

Ashton Jeanty, born December 2, 2003, is an accomplished American football player, currently starring as a running back for the Boise State Broncos. Originally hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, Jeanty has secured a commendable place in football at a young age. The son of a dedicated United States Navy officer, Ashton found his love for football while living abroad in Naples, Italy where his father was stationed.

Jeanty first started playing football at Naples Middle/High School, an institution built for dependents of military staff. Even though the school’s middle component did not feature a tackle football team, Jeanty displayed his talent during his freshman year in high school. Initially positioned as a quarterback, he swiftly transitioned into the role of a running back after only two games. Showing exemplary prowess, he ran for over 1,200 yards and achieved a remarkable record of 21 touchdowns in the six-game season while competing against teams from other base schools throughout Europe.

Completing an exceptional first season, Jeanty was inspired to advance his football career. He expressed his determination to return to his home country to compete at a higher level of high school football. His journey led him to Lone Star High School in Frisco, Texas. Taking the institution by storm, Jeanty generated remarkable statistics as a senior, boasting 1,843 yards in rushes capped with an impressive total of 41 touchdowns. This earned him a well-deserved place in the reputable football program at Boise State University.

As a true freshman entering Boise State’s football team in 2022, Ashton Jeanty did not take long to display his skills. He shared the field with George Holani, dividing the playing time equally. Participating in all 14 games throughout the season, Jeanty started in two and concluded the year with commendable totals – 821 yards on 156 carries and seven touchdowns. Notably, he had an outstanding performance during the 2022 Frisco Bowl, accomplishing 178 yards with a touchdown. Jeanty was quick to commit to another year at Boise State where he continued to shine in the 2023 season.

Balancing duties with Holani once again in 2023, Jeanty was not overshadowed. He led the team in rushing yards, accumulating 1,347 and scoring 14 touchdowns. In addition to his rushing success, he achieved 569 receiving yards, accompanying them with 5 receiving touchdowns. Notably, these statistics were the highest amongst all national running backs for the season. Altogether, he was second throughout the nation in yards from scrimmage, earning him the prestigious title of Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year.

Entering the 2024 season, Jeanty carried the winning momentum from the previous season into the opening game against Georgia Southern. In a dazzling showcase, he ran for 267 yards, shattering a 46-year old single-game record for Boise State. He also scored 6 touchdowns, tying the records for Paulson Stadium and the Mountain West. His performance in the opening week was unmatched by any other rusher in the Football Bowl Subdivision.

As his career progresses, Ashton Jeanty is already being touted as the foremost running back prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is also a strong contender for the Heisman Trophy, affirming his outstanding contribution to college football. While his biography seems like a stub compared to his grand achievements, there is no doubt that there is much more to anticipate from this young athlete in the future.
