The long-awaited rematch between current light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is set to go down at UFC 295. This fight has been highly anticipated since their first matchup in 2015, which ended with a unanimous decision victory for Jones. The odds for this fight heavily favor the former champ as he comes into the bout as a (-203) favorite over Miocic (+290).

Jon Jones enters this fight coming off of one of his most impressive performances yet. He defeated Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 by unanimous decision and showed that despite two years away from competition due to personal issues, he was still capable of performing against one of the best light heavyweights in the world. His ability to take hits while continuing to push forward will make it difficult for Miocic who relies heavily on landing strikes throughout fights.

Stipe Miocic heads into this match after his fifth successful title defense against Daniel Cormier at UFC 252 which lasted five grueling rounds before being declared a split decision win for him. Despite being the superior striker, Miocic had difficulty landing shots on Cormier but was able to survive due mainly in part to his wrestling skill set and patience during exchanges with Cormier’s takedown attempts. His grappling skills may prove useful against Jones who is known mainly as an elite striker but does have some aspects to his ground game when needed such as reversals or submissions from bad positions.

In terms of striking power, neither fighter holds much advantage over each other with both men having proven their striking capabilities throughout their respective careers; however, it would be hard not mention how devastatingly effective Jon Jones can be whenever he decides to place more focus on striking attacks rather than grappling sequences like what happened during his last performance versus Reyes where he landed numerous takedowns and strikes early in every round while taking almost no damage himself until late in the bout when fatigue began setting in rather quickly towards round 5for him . While it could come down purely too whomever lands more clean shots throughout camp exchange, there is no doubt that if given an opportunity Jon will attempt multiple takedowns seeing how they were so effective vs Reyes–and should he succeed even once then we could see further evidence once again that Jon’s wrestling skills are just as formidableas those whom have wrestled allmosteir life unlike things like boxing stance etc etc

Overall it appears that because most experts believe Jones’ game-plan will revolve around smothering Stipe offense through clinches ,takedown attempts & cage control –it looks likely that Jones’ could walk away victorious by decision if not submission depending upon how well micoics defensive guard holds up . However It wouldn’t surprise me though if stipe managed o land somce clean shots nd finish jon thru ko/tko within rds 3-4!
