The former champ has an uphill battle in front of him – but if anyone can make the proper adjustments, Holloway has the Fight IQ to do so. First on the todo list, check those leg kicks. A big part of the story was the chewed up leg of Holloway, slowing him in standup. Besides this, Holloway will need to fid a new way to keep it at distance and leverage his superior reach.

Alexander Volkanovski’s Path to victory

Statistically, the previous winner usually comes out on top again. The new champ can’t assume his previous gameplan will work again, and we don’t expect him to. Volkanovski will want to continue to keep the pressure as he did prior. Mixing in the wresting with viscous hooks is his bread and butter and if he can continue to do so, with new creative combos, he may have Max’s number again.
